In the first year, the experience of an apprentice at network rail is to acquire the relevant knowledge from basic level in the network rail apprentice centre were all is provided for in clud9ig uniform and equipment for studies. you are also provided with all the necessary training needed for when going to complete trainings.
In my first year, I have been able to acquire new skills such as becoming more aware of the environment of work and to be more safety conscious. I have also been able to improve on my electrical and electronic knowledge and improve my capabilities and attention to details. I am confident that these skills will help me to begin my carrier in Network Rail.
I have enjoyed my experience as an apprentice so far as people in the working environment treat one another with respect and fairness. People in the working environment present themselves with high standards which encourages the individuals to meet similar or greater standards. I believe the experience provided by network rail is one of a kind.
the programme is well structured as it is constantly being reviewed to ensure that all minor problems that are noticed are dealt with to provide better standards and experience to all people. the programme also supports all apprentices to ensure their voices are heard. this structure ensures that all apprentices feel safe in the working environment.
As an apprentice we receive a large amount of support from our employers as they ensure to give the support needed whenever we are having difficulties. furthermore they also talk to us on a personal level to ensure our wellbeing and happiness. n the employer also provides support by giving people the necessary counselling when needed to ensure healthy at home and at work.
Our training providers give the support needed by spending extra time with us at the end of the day and in other periods when they are available to ensure we achieve the best possible outcome. our training provider provides support to apprentices by ensuring that if apprentices have special needs, measures a put in place to ensure they achieve as well.
the knowledge acquired from our training provider has helped me to improve and to gain the knowledge needed for my job role as all the teaching conducted by the training provided is directly liked to the activities that will be conducted in my job role. I believe my knowledge acquired from the apprenticeship will help me to recognise the importance of curtain components in my field.
There are multiple extra- curricular activities to get involved in and monthly activities to ensure people who are not involved in the main extra-curricular activities can also take part in some activities such as football, dodge ball and weakly fitness challenges. these extra curricular activities are at the end of the day which help to release stress after a hard day.
Yes
because network rail provides an opportunity full of potential which ensures that if apprentices are successful in their apprentiship they will be able to move on to carries which they will enjoy doing. this apprentiship helps people who keen in doing well in their future and also provides apprentices with a qualification at the end of the apprentice.
If applying to network rail ensure to research about network rail safety standards/ vision (everyone home safe everyday). I would also advise other to be honest in the interview process and to be open and relax when in contact with network rail. it doesn't matter where in the UK you come from you will be given the opportunity.
