I work across a number of e-commerce websites doing a number of different things. Often I work on creating new products pages for launches and briefing emails.
I’ve learnt a lot about e-commerce as well as lots of other digital channels such as search and CRM. I’ve also had the opportunity to go to different seminars and talks to hear from other companies about digital marketing.
It’s a really great programme and I am completing my degree in 2 years which is perfect for me. I sometimes find it difficult keeping up with my uni work but it definitely pushes me to be more organised.
L’Oréal have done a really great job and integrating apprentices into the business. I think it has been a slightly bumpy road with Pearson and often find them quite disorganised which can be stressful for degree apprentices.
L’Oréal are really supportive with allowing time for study leave around exams and deadlines. My manager and team are always very understanding when uni work gets a bit crazy. They are also great at supporting with work based uni assignments.
Although there is a good online system in place Pearson often are quite disorganised when it comes to communicating how the course is structured and when results will be given out. They often miss deadlines for giving results back as well. The lecturers give some support with coursework.
I think it’s the opposite in some sense. I have learnt a lot from my job at L’Oréal which has helped me with my degree rather than the other way around. Although doing work based projects at uni helps me progress within my role!
L’Oréal is a super social company to work for and there are lots of events going on. There are loads of young people and interns on placement so there is always something going on.
Yes
It is a really great place to have a first job and the programme is designed for people who have just come out of school and want to get some experience as well as a degree. This takes a lot of pressure off and makes joining the corporate world easier.
Definitely do lots of research on L’Oréal and make sure you prepare well for the interview. Make sure you are yourself and enjoy the experience!
