  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • A overview of my role on a day to day basis, Can include anything from climbing a telegraph pole to connect a customer and installing into their home, and the next job could be helping with a damage report that a customer could have reported as unsafe and working along side the police or western power for example

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt to improve some skills that I already hold such as communication with the customer changes from task to task this is because you can be dealing with an 70 year old man one minute and a 23year old next who both have different needs and understand, I have learnt how to manage my time better.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I found that the program course that I have been on is very well structured as once the day has been booked for study it stays there and is not removed or changed I would like to see more information at the start of the type of photos you would need to provided as this was very rushed

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • we have been supported from our employer for the studies although the company has failed I think when it came to coaching on the job there has been very little or next to none, we have had some HHT days and a quality day but since then nothing else. I think this is a shame as it would make better engineers

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • we have had a lot of support from them in terms of times of being able to work towards the qualifications, I could ask for some more time and better information when It comes to asking for the photos and ect as this was all asked in one go due tot the last of understanding from staff

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I don't understand how this will help me provide a better understanding in my job role apart from the pay raise I don't see how having what I had learnt will enable me to preform better as a engineer as this should of been changed into coaching days ! not NVQ?

  • 9a. Would you recommend BT Group to a friend?
  • Yes

  • I love being able to meet new people all the time and no job you get it the same it makes you work and think of the fault you had lest time and allowing you to process into a better engineer.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT Group?
  • DO IT YOURE LOVE IT, I hated the job I had before where I would spend 12 hours a day sat in a chair chained to a desk, watching the sun rise and set from the same place since joining I love being out doors and getting my hands dirty while meeting new people
