my day to day role varies on the jobs that are required to do. one day I can be doing a fabrication job i.e. welding/turning, the next I could be fixing a leaky pipe or replacing corroded electrical connections, overall I am learning as much about the packaging and processing machines as possible when there might be a problem with them.
I feel I have learnt a great deal since I started the apprenticeship. the foremost of my learning revolved around mechanical machining and hand held fabrication. I had already had experience within these areas of engineering due to a previous apprenticeship, having already knew the basic principles of the area it was very good to expand my knowledge of different techniques on how to produce things. furthermore my knowledge on the electrical side of things is expanding everyday with new questions and tasks undertaken but since I have not learnt this yet at college, I'm still very limited on what I can do.
I love my job role because of different verities of jobs I can be tasked to do, no two jobs are exactly the same and due to working with different engineers on site, I am learning a variety of different ways of being able to complete different jobs within the company
as much as I love the apprenticeship the structure around the whole program is was very poor there isn't a plan to what we were sticking to or set tutors that would be teaching us and down to this it ultimately affected my first ever year here which put us all behind .
I receive quite a lot of support from my employer I wish it could be a little more, where they actually get me more involved when break downs occur or to perform PPM's on machines rather than do site service jobs which just in tail putting up boards mostly around site.
I receive quite a lot off my training provider wish it could be a little more, where they actually get me 1-1 and explain some of our outcomes more in depth allowing me to understand what needs to be done rather than addressing it to a class and maybe sometimes missing bits because people are asking questions.
I feel like the training that I have received thuss far into my training has helped me greatly when I return back to site as I can go back and put I have learnt into practices and sometimes teaching the other engineers different methods of completing/ overcoming different tasks/ things.
There isn't any extra curricular activities to get involved in at my work that I am aware of, we occasionally have a pool tournament that is held locally at one of the local establishments. we only hold social activities on site which include BBQ's, charity events, car wash.
Yes
I would suggest friends/family and others to apply for tulip because they are a very good company to work for, friendly, caring and always motivating you to go further not only this they have huge company benefits from discounted products, that the company produce but they have a huge tulip reward scheme that gives you discount on major brands.
when applying for tulip it doesn't matter where you come from or what you have previously studied, the apprenticeship program that you are applying for tulip as a company and with there partnership with BMET will teach you everything from the ground up, they will pay for the costs for everything. Just one thing they ask for, show motivation and willing to learn and they will support you if you support them.
