Electrical Maintenance Engineer. To ensure the production of our product flows as smoothly as possible with few stoppages due to breakdowns.
Programmable Logic Controller programming and interfacing, Pneumatic systems, Lathe & Mill usage, Mechanical principles to name a few work related. Working for Vauxhall has also helped me expand my mental and social skills such as meeting new people and attempting things I never would of imagined I'd be able to do.
I enjoy the work I am involved in and the team I am currently working with make it easy to fit in without feeling segregated due to my abilities not being as good as theirs.
I feel as valued as a member of the team who has been there many years.
Training is supplied for us by the company. Education supplied by our employers. Support is always available whether it be work based or college based.
The college give as much support towards my work as they possibly can, Giving lessons in subjects related to the kind of work I will be doing in the workplace.
The supervisors, team leaders and HR team always keep tabs on how the apprentices are doing, resolving any, if any, problems we may have.
Earning the money we do at a young age is a massive bonus, paying for our expensive life styles.
Vauxhall runs various charitable activities which any employee can get involved in. They also hold various competitions whether they be email competitions or competitive activities.
