On a normal day, I will be at a client site doing basic audit testing on sections such as cash and debtors. A lot of the testing involves tracing to invoice.
I am currently working towards the ACCA qualification. At Deloitte we attend a lot of internal training courses for things such as professional skills and excel skills.
Sometimes the work can be dull, but the people make it enjoyable. There are a lot more social events than I was expecting.
I feel very appreciated and valued by Deloitte. There are internal recognition schemes to reward you for hard work.
When you first join there is a 2 week induction in your local office which gives you the basic training you will need out on a client site. Throughout your career there are a lot more training courses to keep your skills and knowledge up to date. There is a lot of support at Deloitte, you are allocated an appraiser, buddy and mentor who will all help and support you in different ways. We have a set study plan at college for our ACCA exams. The programme is very well organised.
We receive a lot of support from the tutors at college whom we can email/phone whenever we need help. The tutors are always more than willing to answer any questions you have.
We receive a lot of support from our employer. You are allocated an appraiser and mentor when you join who you can go to with any problems.
I currently live at home so the salary is fine at the minute. However, if I moved out, I wouldn't have a lot of money left at the end of the month to spend on myself.
There are a lot of charity events you can get involved with outside of work.
