I go to businesses around the area and provide them with a fibre circuit from the network in the ground. we go out to customers and pull in fibre cables to there building and then terminate them to give them a Ethernet fibre circuit which will provide them with internet service.
I have learnt a whole new set of skills while working in this apprenticeship. i have learnt skills during my apprenticeship such as working on fibre and being able to provide a fibre circuit to a business and build things in the network. i also have developed ICT skills during my NVQ work.
I enjoy everyday as it is something new everyday, when i get up to work i look forward to seeing where i am working as some of the businesses i go are very interesting although some days can be hard work i always have a smile on my face when working.
I find it organised and structured well. i find it very organised as i have all of the tools i need when starting the programme for example i am given a phone and laptop to do all my work on straight away. this is important as it gives me the tools to do my work.
I receive the correct amount of support from my employer. my manager helps me with any issues i have and will give me as much support as they can. this helps me to have a better experience at work and enjoy myself when i am working. this is an important part of my job.
I receive a lot of support from my training provider to help me develop towards my qualifications. i always have regular meeting with my training coach usually once a month and this gives me the opportunity to ask any questions or ask for any help to develop my work and skills further.
it helps me to perform my skills better in my role as I have developed them through my training. it gives me extra knowledge when making any presentations and producing important emails. also it gives me more confidence when working out in the field and getting involved with customers that we work with everyday.
i have heard about a few extra curricular activities but not as many as i would like, i would like to get involved in any of the sports teams or any charity events that BT provide. i will look further into it to ensure i get all the benefits i can.
