  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • my day to day role is to attend work by signing on with my phone. picking jobs up and planning my day. carrying out safety checks is vital and forfilling customers expectations. To go to work and come home the same. working in a professional and timely mannr. completing jobs to the best of my ability.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • So far on my journey I have learnt a lot of skills. this is from health and safety and how to work to the requirements of my company. We are constantly training to develop our skills and every day is a learning day. engineering is new to me and the amount of training ive had so far has developed me so much.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy going to work and facing the challenges that my day may bring. I look to perform in a positive manner using all the help and my knowledge to my aid. the programme is great because their is always help and its clear what we are expected to do. if we need extra help or advise its always there on demand.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • it is very organised. as well as our working roster pattern we know when we have specific days to complete our nvq. My assessor send out dates and venue with plenty of time to arrange to be there. We know where we are needed to be, what we need to complete and always whats expected.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • the support is endless. from phone help to face to face help. there is always someone you can go to or call when your in trouble or need assistance. everybody is understanding and everything is looked at fairly. If you become sick or injured the company has processes behind the scenes to aid you with that also.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider is always here via phone or email. they always give us time to help. on the specific days we have for our programme my trainer is clear and easy to understand and works with everyones individual needs. He is open and will give you as much support as you could hope for.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It looks into aspects of my job more deeply especially health and safety which is massive. it opens your eyes to stuff you may not think about all the time. it drills it into you what you as a person are expected to act as an employee and also how you should look out for others.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Im new to the company but bt has a big network and linked with many other business so im sure there are definitely avenues we can go into for extra curricular activities. I know bt offer days out to places you may not go to everyday. There is always opportunities being emailed to us to see if we are interested

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • its the best company ive worked for. in terms of set up and how clear it is what's expected. the opportunities they give you and how professional they are. Stable job, good working hours. Everything's provided training is endless and you meet lots and lots of different people every day, the public and your team mates.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT Group?
  • From my experience ive never done anything to do with engineering. So be confident its a new challenge I love it and feel comfortable with the company and people I work with. You get so much and its endless. Just be confident and get your head into learning something new. I love getting up and going to work
