Infrastructure fibre network delivery to the UK which entails and is provided through infrastructure provide, tenancy and site connections. I am tasked with connecting sites and customers of new site build properties each day ranging from setup, cabling, equipment installations and splicing fibre optics to connect our customers to allow them the option to be connected to Superfast Fibre services.
Yes Repayments skill sets and knowledge, technology applications and updated training. I am looking to move into a Survey Officer or Planner role as I progress through my career and I would love the opportunity to explore this career path way further. I am also about to shadow some experienced colleagues in those selected fields ready to pursue this further in the future.
I have found the Apprenticeship very enjoyable so far and am looking forward to completing my qualification so I can obtain a solid basis for my future career with Openreach and ready for any other opportunities that may arise. I love my job and feel blessed that I’ve been given this opportunity
Very well organised. My Assessor is very good at assisting in all areas and I have found him invaluable throughout my course and also he has assisted me in future career pathways (Planning & Repayments) to help me decide if this Avenue is the right one for me from here.
I’m still waiting to see how much assistance I have as far as career progression as it is early days. If it does not progress then I will surely be following it up as I know where I’m going within the company and ambitious to succeed. We shall see. Support in the role is good so far too - lots of help available.
Excellent. I have achieved everything I wanted to with flying colours and cannot fault the organisation which has led to me completing my units effectively and with good results. I would recommend this course to anyone wanting to further or start their journey in engineering and IT and telecoms. Cheers.
Because it is highly relevant to what I’m going on the field, some of the IT and administration tasks seem a bit pointless to my role however I have seen my colleagues utilise some of the technologies and see the relevance of this in my job role to date.
Yes there are but I’m not really one to get involved in a lot of those types of activities - maybe it’s too early to say and if I progress through the company to where I would like to be then maybe I may consider taking part in these.
Yes
It’s secure, it’s a fun job to be in and there is plenty of room for growth as I have seen and would love to experience. The recruitment process was lengthy but worth it and I can see now why they do it that way, to ensure a majority of new employees stay with the company long-term
Take it seriously. Don’t do it half-assed as at the end of the day we are responsible for connecting people to people and this is important. It keeps us together. So if you’re looking for a long-term, secure job this is definitely where you need to start from.
