My role at GSK, involves me participating in the daily tier, it enables us to plan the shift ahead. Most of the time I am tagged to the Kilo scale Facility. In this plant, I am trained to do batching in, quenching, seeding, crystallization, filtration and drying.
I have learnt several new skills at GSK. Since I was a student from a different course, during this programme I have the opportunity to bring my classroom theories to life. Also get the chance to have hands on experience.
This course, has given me the chance to work and study both full time. It also allows me to work shift, and day slots. Apart from that it I get to have the best of both worlds, technician duties and office duties.
My programme is slightly cramped, but the structure of the school and study period is very clear.
My supervisors do try their level best to provide me with sufficient time to toggle/manage both school and work.
Work and school is not directly related, but they do try their level best to correlate both the things so that I can understand it better.
The school portion has given me a good background to start building my foundation in the chemical engineering field.
