  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work within' a team that's objective is to maintain connectivity through fixing faults around the region, these faults can vary in severity as well as where they're located in the uk, however we can access them remotely from our centre, I task out engineers and communicate with them to guide them through the process of fixing a fault as I can see the results of them changing equipment remotely.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Since starting my role in September of 2018 I have gained a large bundle of knowledge on networks and transmission as a whole and how impactful that is to the UK's infrastructure. Since starting I've developed my communication skills and working as part of a team as talking with engineers and guiding them through tasks are part of my daily role, as well as communicating with my team to ensure all workload is covered.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • As an apprentice you're very taken care of, you always have an opportunity to ask a question no matter what it is, since communication is so great it leads to great organisation by knowing exactly what you're expected of on different days. University is very well structured with ability to access help from within the organisation as you're given contacts of those whom have previously done the same course.

  • Throughout my 5 months at the apprenticeship, I have had multiple experiences with social activities sports and networking events. • 9a. Would you recommend BT Group to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I personally have really enjoyed my time working at BT. I've made some great friends, work with very nice people in a role that involves technology that I find so fascinating. On top of this, achieving a Degree, that will push you further into your career within networks. Whilst obtaining no debt and getting paid a competitive wage. Would highly recommend to those interested!

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT Group?
  • Be yourself, don't try to put on a persona of what you believe the company wants you to be. Throughout the application process I feel confidence and ability to engage in conversation well is what sells you as an applicant. how you present yourself as a person is the main aspect of the interviews and tests.
