  • 1. Please give an overview of what your work experience involved:
  • I went to many meetings involving Internal Auditing and the Luxemburg Building. Career sessions: CV building, Interview skills, Jobs and Motivation. I also learnt a lot about my area of work which is Internal Auditing. I learnt how to use computers and the sophisticated programmes such as Outlook, Microsoft Powerpoint and Skype for Business.

  • 2. What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?
  • I improved my communication and team work skills. As well as that, I improved my time management skills and organisation skills. I also learnt how to be professional in a corporate environment and to introduce and present myself to new and different situations. M&G Prudential provides an environment for personal flourishment.

  • 3. To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?
  • I enjoyed my work experience a lot and it provides an exciting opportunities for the youth. M and G Prudential provides different and unique opportunities that help develop young adults to understand the corporate world. They allow a different environment for people of many cultural backgrounds experience something new which is good.

  • 4. How well organised was your work experience?
  • It was fairly organised and provided many opportunities for students, graduates and apprentices. They schedule everything beforehand and provide an understanding for everyone that is new. They also tell you about time management as it is key in a corporate environment such as M&G Prudential. They are very organised.

  • 5. How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?
  • The company is very diverse and there are people from many different cultural and educational backgrounds. It has a very friendly and family like environment and the people are always welcoming and ready to assist you. As well as that, the staff accept you for who you are and don't judge where you come from.

  • 6. How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?
  • It helped me a lot. I have learnt about the different branches of finance and the different pathways that I can take to become what I want in the future. It always shows that each path is different and any pathway can build your future as long as you try hard.

  • 7. Were you paid or reimbursed for this experience?
  • I was reimbursed for my travel and I was given a maximum of £10 for food. The company gave me money back for my underground travel and if I had travelled by bus or the national rail, the company ( M and G ) would have paid any amount of money that I spent on travel.

  • 8. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?
  • There were many opportunities to speak to other members of staff and people from different departments and buildings. We were also able to go to meetings and meet board executives who gave us advice about the past, present and future of our careers. M & G Prudential provides opportunities for networking and meeting other employees.

  • Yes

  • M and G Prudential provides an amazing opportunity to work in a professional and corporate environment. They give us an understanding about what we need to develop to achieve our dreams and learn what the finance sector does for the country. It improves the knowledge of professional behaviour for my colleagues and friends.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to M&G?
  • If you want to work at M&G Prudential, you must ask questions and get involved as much as possible. Try to be open-minded and listen to what the professionals have to say. Be focused and try your hardest with everything that you do. Be focused and have fun with your job.
