My work experience involved meeting lots of new people including my manager and other roles. After I met people I had to work on my spread sheet about companies receivables and how much they were overdue. This was hard to do as I had only used excel once before this. At the end I had to use power point to make a presentation on the passed week
The skills I learnt are listening as I had to sit down and listen to people for sometimes up to an hour and it was hard to remember. Also another skill is communication as I had to talk to new people nearly everyday ands it has helped me feel more confident when talking
I really enjoyed the work experience as It gave me an insight to the working world and what my life could be when I'm older. It also showed me the different paths I could go into when I am older like university and apprenticeships or other jobs like retail
It was well prepared as each day was organised before the week started and every one was prepared on what they were talking about. Also they had all the career sessions planned out so it flowed quickly and finished on time or just after instead of taking a long time
I learnt that the company culture is the complete opposite of what I thought it would be. This is because I thought people would shout and moan about bad investments or telling people to buy. But instead everyone is relaxed and is calm under pressure even when they haver a deadline
It gave me an overview of what my future could be e.g university apprenticeship's college a levels and just working after you finish school. This is due to the networking with graduates and meeting other people as they all have a different story and what they wanted to do is not always the outcome
yes
yes we had lunch with the graduates where they explained there career paths and what school they went to and what they picked for their GCSES and what they picked for their A levels. This helped as it opened my eyes to new opportunities in jobs like finance and investing
Yes
I would recommend as the work environment is the complete opposite of school as it is not stressful unlike school. Also it is a fun place to work as everyone is calm tolerate and will not judge you. In addition you can qualify with any degree or work experience like retail
The tips I would give people is to be confident and asked questions as you will not get anywhere without asking questions. This would help you understand what stuff means and how to apply it to your work life or personal or school life to help understand other stuff and unusual words/terminology
