I'm an apprentice cable jointer so I work on the underground cable network in the south east of London. on a day to day basis i go around with my team to faults or new services to keep the power network healthy and to keep all of the customers on supply.
since joining the apprenticeship i have learned many new skills as before hand i knew very minimal about jointing but now after all the training I've been given I'm confident working on the live network
i have enjoyed my time on the programme so far as i have got to experience a lot of new things and do stuff i never would have imagined id do like Dofe and going up to the lake district with the other apprentices
the programme is well organised however there are parts which could have been better but for the most part im happy with how its gone.
when i need help they are very good at getting back to me and helping me with whatever it is.
i have been given a lot of training since the start and it is very helpful when it comes to getting qualifications.
before gaining my qualification to joint live under supervision and do the training for it i had almost no clue what to do if when watching jointers joint however now after gaining my qualification n im confident in jointing.
There are some i believe you can do with work however i don't currently do any although i do go out with the other apprentices sometimes for drinks and other activities.
Yes
ive enjoyed my time so far on the company and had a great experience and feel as though it will be a great future staying in the company so would recommend to a friend.
Be yourself, be confident but not cocky and show enthusiasm
