Managing the team inbox and answering any queries that may come in, providing support to the Financial Crime Manager on a day to day basis which includes providing information to the police, managing a spreadsheet for all of our cases, attending meetings about different projects that are happening across the business as well.
I have been able to develop my confidence a lot, as i have been pushed out of my comfort zone when presenting various things at team meetings, as well as committee meetings too. I have also learned how to effectively work well in a team, as well as collaborating well with people across the business.
I enjoy it a lot, because in the role that i am in there is never two days that are the same, i am always doing something new and something that challenges me to think outside the box. It also helps that i am in an industry that interests me a lot (cars and car finance)
If i am being honest it could be structured slightly better - The monthly reviews work well with my apprenticeship trainer, however i do feel like that we could be receiving more support from the business; as i feel that it would work much better if the training provider and the employer worked well to structure it in a way that provided regular reviews from both parties.
As in the previous question, i do feel that i dont receive as much support as i could - The support within my team is as good as it could be because everyone is so busy, however i think that the support we receive from our HR team could be much better.
We receive quite a bit, it has taken a while for this to happen, however the support that we have received when we needed it has been good, providing resources for our revision and supporting our revision techniques with videos that are provided on the online tool that we use.
Unfortunately the qualification that i was provided with was not 100% relatable to my role so in many instances it doesnt help me perform better in my role. I feel that it has given me a much broader knowledge of UK financial services, however it isnt completely related to compliance so i find it hard to relate at times.
I am involved in a 5 a side football team that runs on a weekly occurence with other people around the business and further in the campus itself. This allows me to network and gain friendships that i wouldnt have had usually, as in many instances i dont directly deal with these people on a day to day basis.
Yes
Working for a massive corporation like this looks very good for your CV, and provides many opportunities for development and promotion, not just within the 3 businesses on campus in Farnborough or even just in the UK, but also across the world in one of the many markets that we operate in.
Make sure that you try and sell yourself as much as you can, it is a great thing to be working for such an organisation and you will not want to miss it. There are many roles available online; split across multiple businesses and departments within the Group. So there will definitely be one relevant to you if you want to get into financial services or manufacturing.
