My role varies based on which client or project I am working on. Currently I am in a PMO role so I organise and run workshops with the team and the client. I am also working with people in technology and we are running As-Is architecture workshops to understand the tech architecture of the client.
I have learnt lots of new skills including, how to build e-learns, how to run a project, how to track a budget, how to run a workshop to understand the current and future state of a client’s tech architecture. I have also learnt a lot of stakeholder management skills, understanding how to deal with various situations etc.
I really enjoy my programme. A lot of my friends went to university but having seen their lifestyle and understanding how they work, I really feel like I made the right choice. I find that learning on the job and being able to relate what you learn to daily situations really helps my understanding.
My employer has done a fantastic job at keeping us organised and helping us understand the structure of the programme. Unfortunately our training provider Kaplan doesn’t seem to know what to do. They couldn’t tell us anything about out assessments etc until the last minute and they are really bad at staying in contact with us. No one feels supported.
My employer has been fantastic. We have a really strong support network with career coaches (on an individual level) and relationship leaders (route of escalation if we have a problem with our career coaches for example). All the more senior members of staff are also really supportive and encourage to take the time we need for exams etc.
My training provider doesn’t really give us any support. They never get in contact with us, we always have to chase them down and they seem to tell each of us a different story - no one ever really knows what we are supposed to do and we don’t feel supported at all.
I’m not sure it does. We haven’t really learnt anything from the training provider as our exams are written so we have to write the answers in a particular way to get the marks. This has meant that we have had to learn how to write in this particular style.
There are lots of extra-curricular activities. I have been part of the Birmingham hockey team where we played as part of a league however there is also classes that are put on in the office e.g. yoga classes. For the less sporty among us we also have a panto that we put on every year and various other activities you can get involved in.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at PwC and intend to stay for the foreseeable future. As an employer, they really go above and beyond to look after your physical and mental wellbeing. You feel genuinely part of something special and like you can make a difference to our clients.
Be yourself! The person who interviews you can tell when you aren’t being genuine. PwC wants people who are genuine and true to themselves as they will be sent out to clients straight away. Also be confident, if you aren’t confident it is obvious that you aren’t sure of yourself.
