My role at PwC is a Trainee Associate and my day to day activities would include audit testing such as substantive analytics and control testing, in addition I also study for my ACA qualification to sit the 15 ACA exams, my role may require me to be on business site or client site depending on business needs.
Upon working at PwC I have learnt many new skills, which include technical skills such as Microsoft excel codes and formulas and communication skills such as building relationships with the client and building relationships with the audit team, furthermore I have gained great understanding of audit and the types of audit approach for various clients depending on their status.
I enjoy my programme a lot, as it’s a rare programme that allows you to work within a top firm gaining valuable experience with massive listed clients and still get paid at the same time and also allows you to gain a worldwide redo gnoses qualification, which again is paid for and all materials are provided for.
I believe my programme is very well structured considering that we are school leavers, the programme aims to give us more time to absorb the content then grad programmes and also at the same time gives us the same responsibility as grads, furthermore the programme is one of the few programmes out there which is tailored for school leavers.
PwC offer great amounts of support including various people within the firm are introduced to you before joining such as buddies and career coaches, these people will help you settle within the firm, in addition there is unlimited on the job training provided by great intelligent seniors and managers, also there are Kaplan coaches who are assigned to us to help us through our apprenticeship.
My training provider Kaplan offer great support through excellent tutoring and offering all available support materials to help with revision, furthermore Kaplan tutors are also available to contact through email or call for most of the day, which was very helpful and whenever stuck on any topic it was easy to gain help.
I believe that the training offered by PwC while on the job will sharpen my practical aspects of audit and the training offered by Kaplan through my qualifications will help me with the theoretical aspects of audit, with a good balance between both worlds I believe it would really improve myself as a auditor.
PwC offer various extra curricular activities such as squash and football, in addition PwC also offers other things within the office that we can get involved in such as audit transformation team or the well being team, which allow to do activities such as organise events and gain additional skills.
Yes
