Helping businesses and organisations to improve themselves. Working mainly on client site alongside my team in local government/housing/health to deliver cost savings/ redesign .org structures / improve customer experience whilst dealing with these organisations. This can often mean staying away from home and so spend a lot of mornings in hotels
Yes I have developed excel skills, PowerPoint skills, communication skills, presentation skills, time management skills, interpersonal skills through my everyday work. These have really helped to build my confidence not only through the work I’m doing but also in my everyday life outside of work including in my volunteering work.
I do enjoy the programme as I’ve had a wide range of different experiences and I’ve been able to learn a lot of new things in a short space of time. I’ve worked in a lot of new industries I never would have had the chance to otherwise
It is well structured, throughout I have always known the next step of the programme and exactly what I need to do in order to progress both with my apprenticeship towards the qualifications and in order to get promoted further within. My own organisation. The structure is obvious from the start.
I have support from a buddy when I first joined who answered all of my questions. I then have a career coach who focuses on ensuring I’m developing within my work at PwC. I then have a talent coach from my training provider who focuses on ensuring that I am supported to do my qualification
I have a talent coach from Kaplan who ensures I am on track to complete my qualification and makes sure I understand exactly what my next steps are and what I need to be doing. The tutors who teach my course are also very helpful and they always ensure that I’m coping with the material.
It has given me a wider knowledge of the areas in which I work on a day to day basis, so the different sectors I work in as well as how businesses and organisations operate financially as a whole. I understand the way in which my firm works also, eg in fee structuring.
Yes, I can get involved with netball through work. There is also the chance to get involved with the young MCA which supports young management consultants. In my office itself,. There are many social events funded by the business and there are also informal social events with others in the office.
Yes
I have so much support where I work and my job has been exciting and interesting. I’m not just the extra person there to make the coffees, I’m getting involved with every aspect of the work that we do and I really am thrown in at the deep end
Ensure you understand what our business does. Also check out the PwC professional and map yourself against the attributes there. The firm cares most about its people themselves so make sure you’re a well rounded person with an open mind and willingness to learn about everything when you join
