I do emails to clients and attend client meetings to talk to them about their tax affairs as well as help find new innovative ways to make our process more efficient. However there is always extra work or various projects to get into such as payroll or technology improvements or pensions etc.
Yes - I have learnt excel in more depth, Coding and macros for power point and excel to create videos as well as the technical knowledge gained in briefings and work. This knowledge has been tax specific however I have received many skills which are not tax specific but will be easily transferable to other work if I leave.
I have really enjoy the programme at PwC UK I have made loads of new friends and been introduced to a wide range of opportunities as well as been given responsibility in many things which has helped my confidence and actually means i make a difference regardless of my experience.
It is very well structured we have college days and work days given to us and can be seen on our personal calendars as well as exams on two times a year and the rest is work. However when joining it could have been slightly better organised on Kaplans behalf.
I receive a lot of support through Buddies, Career coach, Briefings coach, Peers and a mentor. We currently do not have a mentor however the senior managers and Managers that you work with on your clients are great role models. However the support from my career coach and the others is just incredible. We also have a resourcing manager to ensure you are not doing too much work and that you are doing just enough.
I can always email my tutor or career coach for any questions I may have as well as Kaplan have a regular call once a month to go over anything you are stuck on and to monitor your progress. This monthly call is to go over revision methods applying for exams how work is going.
Massively my qualification is directly linked to my work that I do and the more training I do for this qualification the better I am at my role in work. This is one of the greatest things as when I go and train and revise for my exam as this is directly related to my work it actually makes the work easier as you understand it that much more.
Yes there is a monthly social in our team as well as a football and basketball and various other extra curricular such a drama. But there is so much to do and if there ever isn't something you can always organise it yourself or have a mini social between your buddies and peer group.
Yes
Because it is a great place to work the people are lovely and very understanding the work is enjoyable and you get a great qualification out of your role so it is the total package! If there is anything you are unsure about there is so many people to help you as well as to ensure you are progressing so it doesnt get boring.
Just be yourself and answer everything truthfully because we hire the individual and their personality not a robot. If you are ever unsure about anything always ask as you are not expected to know everything. Make sure to do your research before you apply as there are so many sectors to apply for so make sure you know which one you want to be in.
