Managing the UK tax affairs of globally mobile individuals, this include people coming in and out of the UK whether that be on assignment, permanent relocation or seafarers we ensure they remain compliant in the UK with regards to their UK tax affairs but meeting all relevant deadlines for filing tax returns, advising on tax queries and providing general advice
Yes, as we are becoming a far more technologically savvy company we are always introducing new tech that helps boost our efficiency, as a result I have managed to become a part of the RPA team dealing with Robots in the finance industry and learning new software such as alteryx for data manipulation.
My programme overall lasted for 2 - 3 years and alongside it I have gained a professional qualification and met many new friends and colleagues, I can say that because of the people I have worked with It has made the entire experience a very pleasant one and I enjoyed most days.
The overall programme itself within the company is very structured and rigid, as you will follow a set path in which days you are both in and out of college, what days you are working and when you will get promoted as when you complete the programme you are then no longer on a guaranteed promotional path
My employer themselves gave me a great deal of support, this came in many ways by either giving me the required time off for personal time, studying or college days they were always very charitable with me taking the time off I need in order to succeed and stay motivated.
My training provider when taking my exams was fantastic and helped me to easily pass all my exams first time without any issues however as a side part of my programme we have to complete a professional diploma and this was not managed well at all in which my own work was lost on frequent occasions. This has nothing to do with the company and only the onus is on the Training provider
My professional qualification actually is directly linked to the work in which I carry out on a day to day basis and therefore greatly improves the quality of my work and also drastically aids the progression of my career within my company, it has also made me a very marketable individual should I want to move in my career.
Within my company there are a vast expanse of activities in which you can join in, in fact it is almost recommended that you take up something just so that you can improve your network. They have on offer literally every sport available, cooking clubs, running clubs, bird watching you name it someone in the company has a team started for it.
Yes
PwC offer not only some really good schemes to help individuals who have just left school but also offer some great schemes for graduates and are always one of the top recruiters for people who have come out of education. The schemes teach you a great deal and make you extremely employable.
When applying to PwC or any big 4 specifically ensure you know what you are applying for, what it entails and if it's the right place for you. There are a large amount of teams within financial service companies which can vary drastically on their workload therefore always make the effort to contact someone already working their on linked in or wherever to get an insiders insight.
