  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My day to day role is to engage with the clients senior support and business owners of applications, I will then schedule and lead calls to better understand these applications and the infastructure they sit on. I will then review this information, send out meeting minutes and actions to the client. This is part of a huge project to decrease the clients data centre footprint wherby I work in discovery

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Definately, I thought i was competent using Microsoft Excel before I joined Accenture. However, I have since picked up so many new formulas and tools and understand the use of it. I have also become and much more confident person now that I am engaging with new people everyday. This has been a great learning curve for me.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The social aspect. The team I work with are super sociable and I really enjoy going out after work for team events with them. I am also dedicated 'fun manager' and will organise fun trips we can do as a group. Things I have organised include crazy golf, bowling, table tennis, curling and escape rooms.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I always get my 20% off the job time to study which is really important. QA manage the degree teaching. Each module is the same length (10 weeks) and we always get the same amount of face to face time. Although it is mainly online based learning the module tutors will always support me if I have any questions.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is particularly supportive of my degree and although this is a fairly new scheme in my area of the company they are always interested to understand what I am studying and how they can best support. On top of that I am sometimes given extra teaching to improve my understanding

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Each module is 10 weeks long with 4 face to face days in that time. At these face to face days (workshops) the module tutors are happy to go through our assignments with us and help improve our understanding. The rest of the time we receive online learning, if I have any questions I will often email my module tutor who is very responsive.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Some of the modules I have studied help support my role. I may change role every 6 months so I am constanly learning new things on the job which sometimes I have come across before with QA. Having the practical experiences of applying the theory I have learnt is very helpful.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There's always extra ciricular events to get involved in. I often help out with arranging team events such as escape rooms and crazy golf. This week I organised a team curling trip which I can't wait to have a go at. I am also part of my organisation communications team which has been a great way to get visibility from leadership

  • 9a. Would you recommend Accenture to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Having joined Accenture 18 months ago having never worked a proper job before I have made so many new friends and developed new skills. I was suprised by the variety of roles here. Each time I change role it's like starting a new job all over again. This helps improved my learning and keep things interesting.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Accenture?
  • When you get to the interview stage make sure you do your research on the company, whether your directly asked a question about it or not, your interviewer will be impressed if you can prove your done your research. Also, include any work experience you've done on you cv, just me any experience is better than none and it's more relevant to the role than you think.
