My role is in the tax large corporate team and consists of helping out more senior members of the team with task such as responding to general ad hoc queries, or helping out on much larger projects. This can be anything from drafting response emails to clients to drafting technical appendices to be inserted into the back of step plans.
I would say i have learnt new skills more specifically skills to do with using software such as word, excel, and power point. E.g. how to use a wider variety of formulas in excel, any little shortcut in word, and ways to update a power point slide deck to ensure it is consistent.
I would say that i really enjoy my programme. Everyone i work with no matter what level is more than willing to help answer any questions you have and very accommodating when it comes to getting me involved in topics i have shown interest in. I also like the relaxed approach there is with everyone and the trust everyone gives me.
I think the structure of my programme is very well organised, its very clear when i may have to be out of the office for training and i always know a long time ahead when im going to be out at college or have an exam. There is also a lot of support provided by way of a career coach who is there to answer any of my questions about the broader picture of my role.
I would say that i receive a lot of support from my employer. from day one we are allocated to a buddy who helps me get integrated in the team and who is there to answer any immediate questions i may have. then for more wider support we are given a career coach who is there to support and guide us in our development in the role.
We aren't given much direct support by our employer however we are given enough time off to go to college, days off for revision and any time off for any mock exams and then exams. They are always very accomodating to allow us the time off and if we are working with someone they are always very flexible to allow us the time off.
I think it helps a lot as i work in tax and my qualification is a tax specific qualification ATT. this helps me to understand the basics of tax as a whole and then as it progresses the more complexities to do with tax and the wide variety of topics that sit underneath the term tax.
There are always extra activities to do outside of work and the team always make an effort to have a social event to help with networking. there are also a number of sports teams to join and sports classes to get involved with after work. Also within the team there are opportunities to join in.

I feel that PwC is a very friendly and accommodating place to work with endless amounts of opportunity. Everybody is willing to spare their own time to help you out, and really develop you own understanding and skills in the area you work. The added flexibility makes working here so much easier.
The application process is very straightforward and designed to get the most out of the applicant. The assessment days can be very long but are very helpful in determining who is and isnt right for the company, and i wouldnt feel bad if you dont get everything right. The interview is very relaxed and almost like a casual chat with a bit more structure.
