Supply Chain Apprentice Review

My role is supporting a continuous improvement project focused on supply chain as well as supporting day to day distribution activities. Some of my responsibilities include website governance, stake holder engagement, project communication, data analysis, creating business cases based on analysis, improvement of current processes to make them more efficient, cost saving activities on current processes.

Advanced skills with software such as PowerBi, excel, powerpoint. I have expanded on my skills such as leading meeting and being able to articulate my ideas in a way which other people can understand easily. Improved on my problem solving ability and been able to apply to practical situations. Learning about taxes and finance.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience so far at the company, being part of an incredibly experienced, supportive team. Everyone has time to discuss problems you might be facing, allowing you to learn from their knowledge. With opportunities to travel since the company is a large global business, it has so far surpassed my expectation.

My programme is supported very well from within my team, with time whenever I need it to study and if I have any questions about parts on my course people are happy yo help me. That could be specific questions or just general grammar checking. There could be some improvement with apprentice induction but there has been some positive steps to amend these problems.

I am always able to receive help when I ask, this could be both with my work and also my studies. People are happy to help walk through one of my problems with my work with me so that I can go with the best option and learn from their past experience.

We have monthly visits from our tutor who helps advise us with our programme, answers any questions that we have and once we are getting ready to submit modules he will read through them and make corrections before we submit. Weekly online calls about specifics on the course material every week with support on mock assignments.

My qualification gives better insight into other areas of the business and also into the general environment of the business industry. Writing assignment for my qualification helps improve my writing ability. It also helps improve my time management with having deadlines and a set of reading that i need to complete before a certain time.

There is a large amount of company events, with guest speakers coming onto site frequently. Networking events, there is also a volunteering programme to take part in which can be completed with your team. There is also social events such as 5 a side football, spin classes and gym to use.

To research the companies values as a lot of what we do are hinged on those decisions should take them into account. this is the same for assessment days, a lot of what is done in those days is based around the company values.
