  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • In my role within the innovation Department I daily look at implementing new technology into the business, this may have cost saving benefits or time saving benefits, however they all go towards making out 2020 vision within our team. I constantly work with different people in different department increasing my communication skills.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt many new skills since starting my apprenticeship these range from people skills to communication skills as well as many technical skills that I apply everyday work life to solve problems that come my way. In my job role I constantly evolve new skills from working with new technology

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme a lot and feel like it is well laid out and I know exactly what I need to achieve I have regular one to one meetings with my line manager so I know I am on track to achieve the best possible results in work as well as college

  • I believe as a whole the programme is well structure however there have been times when it hasn't been communicated the best to me how to do something or what is needed from me however the majority of the time I feel like the programme is very well structure and would recommend to anyone of

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from my employer especially my line manager who I regularly have one to one meetings to make sure I am on target to achieve the best I can. We address new tasks and challenges that I can do as well as chat about where I am up to with college etc.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • from my training provider I receive meetings every 2/3 months to make sure I am on track with all my college work. I also receive a lot of feedback from my lectures at college who are always willing to help me if I need it and will sit down and explain something if I am struggling to understand .

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel like there could be more job specific work from my training provider to my role. There is a lot of academic work that I wouldn't tend to use in my role however I have still used some of the things learnt by my training provider in my role such as safe isolation and how to safely carry out tasks and who to go for if support is needed

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I have been asked to be part of a few extra-curricular activities in the past however I have never taken part as none have taken my fancy. I have been invited to take part in various sports teams and also been invited to many social events, whether that be meals or drinks.

  • Yes

  • I would recommend Siemens to a friend I believe it is a good company to work for with good morals and beliefs, there are many perks to the job through perks at work for example that a lot of other companies that don't offer so many perks within the job


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens?
  • my main piece of advice would be to do a lot of research on the company especially what Siemens believes in. It is looked upon well if you have the right mind-set to work here and know exactly what is it you want to achieve. Siemens will help and push you to achieve what you want to.
