  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role on a day to day basis includes responding to emails, communicating effectively with colleagues, working on Excel, Word and Powerpoint for large periods of the day. • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have improved my existing skills, these include my I.T skills and communication skills. I have learnt some new skills, including getting to grips with certain programs used by the company that I have had very little or no experience with previously. I would like to improve my skills further in the future.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme a lot. Although I have already been on the programme for 6 months, I still feel that I have a lot further to progress and I will hopefully enjoy it more and more as it goes on and I get closer to qualifying in about 4 years time.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is definitely very well organised and structured. I am informed well in advance of when I will be going out to college or when I am taking my exams. I also feel that the exams seem to very be well spread out and not too much too quickly.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a great deal of support from my employer. My colleagues on my team have made me feel very welcome and done everything possible to ensure that I settled into the team quickly and felt comfortable. If I have any questions I know that there are several people that I can comfortably ask.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I haven't had very much experience in this certain respect yet as I haven't actually taken any exams up to know. When I went out to college to study for my first exam, which is in a couple of months time, I felt that there was a great deal of support.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Similar to the last question, I have not yet had a great deal of experience with my training provider. I have only been out to college on one occasion. However, I feel that some of the skills that I learnt from those few days alone have helped me to perform better in my role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, there are both social activities and professional networking events to get involved in. I have not yet had much experience with these but there is plenty to get involved in, meaning that there is many opportunities to get in touch with colleagues and further your contacts list, which is useful.

  • 9a. Would you recommend EY to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • The level of support that I have received since I have been at the firm is exceptional. I don't feel that too much pressure has been put on me and I am comfortable at work. Expectations are not unrealistic, but still encourage me to push myself from day to day

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • If I was giving tips or advice to somebody applying to EY, I would tell them to make sure that all of the online tests are completed at a comfortable pace and at the best of their ability, to try and improve their chances of getting an interview with the firm
