Analyst Review

I work within corporate restructuring in the Liquidations team. I make sure that all of the statutory requirements are met for all cases, for example, drafting and sending letters, dealing with customers queries over the phone, via email or letter. I ensure that all internal systems are up to date.

I have really developed many skills and learnt lots of new skills too. I have learnt the official office lingo for emails and letters. Attending college and learning the accounting syllabus was quite hard but because it is part of my every day work, it has really helped me develop these skills.

I thoroughly enjoy the programme and am so glad I chose it over university. I am gaining a lot of experience that I never would have gained by reading books at university. I have made lots of new friends who are going through the same experiences as me and it makes coming to work fun

EY's apprenticeship programme is very well organised. There are people who are specifically for the programme who help you with any query. The application process was made very comfortable as well as the boarding process. I was made to feel part of the team as soon as I started.

Everyone has a "counsellor" assigned to them which is essentially someone in their team who has been there longer than themselves who you can go to with any query and they guide you on how to improve your skills and make sure you are working to the best of your ability. This support system is great as it ensures you always have someone to go to

My tutor at college is great because she always makes a point of ensuring that you understand. She always insisted that we could email her even out of hours if we have gone home from the day at college with unanswered questions. It is a great help having this reassurance.

Without the training and the knowledge learnt through my qualifications, I would not be able to understand the workings of my team and would not be able to progress. On the flip side, however, working day to day has really helped me with my studies as I am using it everyday

There are lots of activities and networks that you can get involved in and if you ave a passion for something that does not already have a team or network, you can create it yourself! Being such a large and diverse company, you are more than likely to meet someone with the same interests and passions!

Although I have only worked at EY for 6 months, I can already feel that it has changed me as a person for the better. I have become more responsible, more initiative and have learnt to balance my time so much better than I did at school. I have met great friends and had great experiences.

Be yourself. Interviewers will be members of the team and while you are talking to them they will be thinking "will this candidate really fit into our team?" If you are yourself and you truly would work well in the team, then they will choose you. Don't pretend to be someone you aren't
