I work in equities so my desk is located on the trading floor. My team is corporate access which gives investors access to corporates. This is done through roadshows, bespoke reverse roadshows, sector trips, conferences, expert calls/lunches/dinners. The day to day of my role includes assisting in setting up meetings with different investors with different corporates as well as organising expert events.
Yes. I have learnt time management and how to properly prioritise my to-do list.
I really enjoy it because everyone is always kind and helpful, I feel like I am continually developing and the company gives many perks to its employees such as the ValueFlex scheme.
Very organised/structured and they tailor it to the individual needs of your business area
Me and my line manager have bi-weekly catch-ups which is very helpful so she can provide me with any feedback and I can also tell her about any issues I am having. I also have an informal and a formal mentor scheme which enables me to have honest, informal conversations about any worries etc. that I am having We also have catch-ups with the Junior Talent team in HR
We get lots of support because they have very regular catch-ups with us as well as provide us with reflective learning logs and clear plans of how to attain our targets. This is useful because they are always at my disposal if I need any help.
It helps me somewhat because It has given me the foundation to understanding the industry a lot better.
There are lots of things to get involved in. From sports to music lessons. I personally have taken piano lessons with the company which were very very good. There are always professional networking events going on and the apprenticeship team also organise regular apprentice networking events so tis is good for getting to know all of the other apprentices.
