Aiding and learning from varius teams and disciplines. Complete paperwork daily and coursework outside of work. Every 3 months I undertake 2 weeks training in Gosport to learn more theory and some practical.
Learnt how to engage in maintenance tasks, report writing and management / communicating within the company.
I enjoy the programme on a day to day basis, however can b stressful relying on others to finalise and sign my paperwork.
Apprenticeship is a great idea, poorly executed however due to lack of communication / understanding between apprenticeship department and the areas we are actually placed in. Too much emphasis to relying on others to complete / finalise my work.
Supports from higher up is good and aim to guide / help you. Support from the lower down is more difficult as there is no awareness or understanding of apprenticeships scheme, with little to none motivation for others to help apprentices.
When on courses and training the help is excellent and people will teach you properly with everything you need to know.
Qualification will help build a greater understanding of the industry as a whole and to build towards a permanent position.
Supposedly there are but these are almost non existent, or hidden / poorly made aware of.
Yes
Are plenty of opportunities and can be a pleasant place to work if you can secure a position.
As long as you can dedicate yourself to work, safety conscious, work well in teams, you can be happy and go far within the company.
