My Role is being an account executive within the Directors & Officers Liability Insurance team, my day to day practice involves placing, negotiating and renewing insurance risks for clients. on top of this it is managing clients expectations while doing this i need to ensure i am following WTW's procedures and complying with the values to meet the customers needs every time.
I have gained qualifications from the CII since starting where i am now Certificate qualified, additionally i am enrolled in lots of internal training courses where i am taught new skills every day. My professional skills have definitely increased since joining and i am a lot more confident when approaching people.
I thoroughly enjoy working at this company, the role I am in is very special, and i get to see so many new things every single day, in general, every day at work is a new adventure because everything is so unexpected. i also like the fact that after the program is over, there is lots of opportunities to continue progression.
Our programmed is fairly structured, we are consistently scheduled into study workshops which are used to help us pass our exams. We have to on the side also complete reflective learning logs to evidence how we are achieving an increasing competency in the grading spectrum. Lots of support is always easily available when needed, therefore overall the structure of the program is great.
When it comes to personal problems, to being sick or just needing help in general, WTW has the answer to everything and they are able to provide you with anything to make you feel comfortable at work. they really do take care of your well being while working here and all managers of teams are very supporting and motivating.
We receive consistent training every few months from our apprenticeship team, this is where we are bringing in an external trainer to run through the exam details and just for general supported study, this ultimately puts us in a better position to pass our exams which is part of the apprentice agreement and accounts to the final gateway of completion.
The qualification we achieve is a general overview of insurance, you will find that on a book by book basis you pick up lots of interesting facts and learn lots of new things that gradually you see become integrated in your role. overall the qualification we achieve is also great for career progression as it shows clear evidence of professional development.
There are lots of extra-curricular activities at WTW, outside of work there are football teams, charity events, running clubs, more than you can imagine. In general making friends here also opens up opportunities to get involved in more things. since being here i have picked up a further love for Golf, as well as playing for my local football team.
Yes
I would recommend WTW as i feel that it is a great start to anyones career, it has so many opportunities internally that allow any one individual to progress such as working towards being full time in the london office or even pursuing a management career having your own team.
Definitely make sure you smash your interview, the process you go through to get into the job here is very daunting and hard, just ensure to be yourself and express yourself and interest for wanting a job at this company. After that, its all about composure and making sure you are dedicated to your role and wanting to learn and be the best.
