Job Title : summer intern I have been working with different departments throughout my placement, spending time in marketing and corparate finance by doing research for campaigns and potential clients. I have also been to meetings one of which indicating potential career opportunities the other a client targetting meeting. My general responsiiblities include conducting research and presenting my findings.
I have certainly developed my research skills by being more in depth. I have also learned to think laterally so that I can see information that others may miss. Furthermore I have developed my interaction skills after seeing how important they are following the client targetting meeting.
generally I have found the work stimulating and interesting. The office culture is extremely sociable and welcoming. My placement has excceded expectations and clarified my decision to apply for the school leaver programme
Due to constant feedback to my mangers I have received constant recognition and praise for my work. Furthermore occasionally my managers will check my work and will be happy to offer and advice and answer any questions. Ultimately I feel extremely valued by BDO.
Up to all the factors that can be controlled my placement has had a clear structure. Although I am not given a day to day schedule I have been given work as soon as I finish one task. Some plans are opportunistic such as attending client meetings which allows me to remain interested and motivated.
BDO has been the training provider and has given me resources such as books to read to ensure that I fully grasp all ideas. Additional to this I have received personal 'training' educating me on the basics of audit.
All staff are happy to help and have work for me to do once I have finished any task. If any help is required I am always met personally instead of intructions via e-mail which feels reassuring and ultimately provides a solution quickly.
Appropriate. Daily costs are generally quite low hence payment is appropriate
A number of sporting activities have been suggested.
