  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am a data analyst. I get different tasks to do set by my line manager on a daily bases. These can involves moving data in a database or migrating data from the source and bringing it into the database. I use different programs like visual studio and management studio to do this.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, I have learnt a lot about SQL and how to use it. I now use SQL on a daily bases. I have learnt a lot about coding and data bases. I did not really have any IT skills before i started so everything i am doing here is what i have learnt from the apprenticeship.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I somewhat enjoy it. I like that I can actually help in the work space and i see what i do actually go in to production and can be used by other people in the country. I would like to try out different roles in the company and see what job really does suit me as I do not exactly love IT.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is well organised. I go and do training in Bristol for a week at a time about every month. However, my skill couch from QA is not the best and there have been a lot of complaints about him. It took him ages to get my course sorted which put me at a disadvantage on the first training week.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer, Fujitsu give me plenty of support. Whenever i ask for help or more time to focus on my course i get given the time and help i need. My manager will spend his work time to help me when i am stuck on training and i can not do it myself.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My skills coach is not very good. He did not register me to my course in time for the first training week and that meant i could not do the pre learning and i was then at a disadvantage. Also, i feel like he is not bothered with his job.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel like it could be fairly relevant in the future. I have used a small amount of the skills i have learnt in the classroom. However, some of it is very basic and some of i feel like I will never use, but i feel like they are still good skills to learn.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is a gym on site but i do not use it because it it the same price as the gym which i go to which is open 24/7 and has more things there also both of the gyms are the same price. Other than that there is nothing else here.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Fujitsu to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • They pay well here and all of the people here are very nice and friendly. The team i work in is good and they will always offer help when you need it. Also, the office is clean. This is a large company so there is lots of room to grow in the company.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Fujitsu?
  • Make it sound like you will not give up on the work you are doing and you will stay committed to the job. Also, if they ask where you go to for help if you have a problem say Google and YouTube and if that fails you will ask someone else for help.
