my day to day role is shop floor and working on tills. i face and do stock masterclass every day. i use the hht when appropriate and i also participate in the banking when the shop is closed. I also make sure i help any one with any questions or queries when necessary.
i have learnt how to use the hht, such as date code, printing and making tags and doing a pick list. i have also learnt about SOM and how to bank when the shop is closed. I have also learnt how to use a till and the basic way to perform a transaction, and i have improved on my customer service during this course.
i thourghly enjoy my time working at Savers in kidderminster. i get on well with all of the team and enjoy giving excellent customer service and learning new skills. Meeting with my Apprenticeship Worker every three to four weeks has gave me a lot of support when discussing how i’m progressing throughly my time and i enjoy meeting with him when i have the chance.
it is very well organised. i see my apprenticeship man every three to four weeks and get to do an hours work each week to help me complete the work. and when i need help i can always ask. When i need to learn new skills, i always have the support of my store manager and other memebers of staff when needed. I learnt a new skill at least every one to two weeks as once i have learnt the skill, i use the rest of the time to improve it.
i receive a lot of support from my employer from doing my apprenticeship work and just general day to day tasks. She is always there to help if i have a question or when i am struggling to understand or answer a question. When it is time to learn a new skill she always praises me when i am correct and helps me improve when needed.
i receive a lot of help from my store manager and my apprenticeship man when completing my work. My manager also helps me to learn new things to do throughout the shop floor. I am allowed to use the computer when research is needed and my manager helps me when i have any questions of what i am working on. And when i am struggling to understand something she gives me and example or physically shows me what it is if possible so i get the best understanding of the topic.
Because he helps me a lot and if i ever need to contact him and i can through email. He explains things when i dont understand and praises me when i get things correct. When he has explained something, i try and use it in my day to day work if appropriate at the time so i can focus on how to understand it better and he always lets me understand about both sides of the topic.
Unfortunately, there is no extra curricular activities that i participate in. However when it is someone’s birthday/ special occasion or season holiday, most memebers of staff get together to celebrate the occasion together such as christmas dinners or surprise birthday parties. Most members of staff have families so there is no time for extra things in or out of work.
Yes
Because it has helped me get into the working. world and what it is like to do a full time job. i have learnt a lot of new skills and a lot of new people that i enjoy working with. It has prepared me for what it will be like working a full time demanding job.
if you want to get into the working world i would defiantly recommend A S Watson as they have helped me gain new and improved skills that will help me with any job that i wish to pursue in. It has also taught me many skills that i can use within and out of the company.
