I do test of details which means that I revise the work done by the finance department of the client I am on for that period. I go through their financial information and verify that everything they state about their finances is true and can be proven by the company.
I have learnt many new skills especially with technology. Before my placement I was completely clueless about how to work programmes such as Excel but since working at the firm I have learnt a wide variety of shortcuts and formulas which makes performing my work so much easier to do.
I enjoy my programme a lot because its a good balance between university and work. I get to have the university experience as well as getting the experience that is so important to have when applying for jobs in the future, you also get paid for the work which allows you to live comfortably.
The course has one year of only university and then the next three years are split so that the first term is at university, the second term is placement and the third term is at university so you get all of your notes done first then add on to this knowledge during placement.
My employer gives many benefits which makes the placement enjoyable. You also get loads of coaching to be able to get you up to the level you need and don't feel like you are not competent enough to be doing the job. My employer also allows flexibility which is very helpful.
My training provider helps me a lot with training by providing me with the necessary textbooks and learning materials to help me learn everything I could possibly need for the exams. When working towards my qualifications I do feel like I have a lot of support from my training provider.
My qualification allows me to understand my role a lot better as a lot of the work I have to perform is explained in the qualification and I have a better understanding of why I am actually performing the work in the first place which allows me to perform a lot better.
I have the ability to get involved in a large number of societies. These can range from sports, educational, religious, networking and many more. I personally have spoken to a colleague about the many sporting activities that are available there and will be participating in networking events in the near future.

PwC is a very friendly and inclusive environment to work in. Everyone in the office is very helpful when you are stuck with anything and there is constant support for any problems you have whilst working there. The PwC staff are a very good group to be working with and make the experience very pleasant.
I would advise people to ensure they have goals for what they want to achieve in the placement so that they can get the most out of their placement and can grow in the areas that they really want to be improving in and be the best for themselves and for the company.
