In my job role I am to visit a client/ customer and review the relevant audit, an example of this is a payroll review. This would then result in me going through their payroll system to see if any irregularity are present, for example, people live on the payroll despite having left the business.
An existing skill I had was communication with people. I have developed this by having continued scenarios of meeting new people all the time. Particularly clients. A new skill I have picked up is my overall job role, using newly learned methods to be able to do my job properly.
I thoroughly enjoy my job and the programme I am on. I love the fact I can get paid as well as learning. I also love working in this field and I am very interested in the client I am based on for the majority of my time. I also love working away and this job allows me to do so on the occasion.
Programme is very structured as I visit my college once a week on a day release programme. However being away at a client most of the time means I am rarely in the office which does disconnect me slightly from the likes of my training managers however keeping in touch through email does seem to work just fine.
I receive a significant amount of support from my employer, especially from my mentor. He teaches me how to do my job properly and more recently guides me or picks up on any errors I may have made. HR team also likes to check in on how I am doing and my manage also checks up regularly on my progress.
I receive a lot of support from my college getting a number of different resources to use. It helps also going into college also as I prefer working in a class room to a remote location. They provide me with text book, online resources and other sheets for me to pick up extra knowledge outside of the class room.
Because I do accounting at college and my profession isn't necessarily anything to do with finance at all, it is hard for me to relate my college work to my job. However I do understand that there is a limited number of qualifications for me to do at this stage.
There are multiple events for me to go to which include people from offices I go to. Whether is it out of hours meet ups or internal courses for me to go to. It keeps me in the social loop at work. This is good as it makes work even more enjoyable when you get on with the people you work with.
Yes
Because they are a great professional company who completely care about how you are doing in every aspect including personal life and mental health shown in scheduled CABA meetings they host. It is also worth saying I am proud to work for such a great company. The way they get you involved in everything makes you feel good even though at first you may not know how to do your job.
To be yourself and show what you can do. As well as this you must show what you have done in the passed, for example at school or any qualifications, and show how you can use this to your advantage in the work place, and how this can benefit them as a business.
