In my role at Schneider, we work in placements in different areas of the business. Currently I'm working in sales so on a day-to-day basis I am sending lots of emails and taking part in E-learning courses to learn more about sales and what the role consists of. Furthermore, I occasionally go out on sales visits with some of the salesmen to gain experience in front of customers and understand how a good salesmen operates and the strategies they use.
Since I started at Schneider, I have learnt so many new and valuable skills that I will take with my throughout my career. I feel I have developed a lot of social and people skills since I joined which has been really beneficial for me. I also feel I have gained valuable knowledge about the industry and feel I have a lot better understanding of it since I started in my role.
Since I began my role, I have really enjoyed my time here at Schneider. I feel that the people that I am working with and the exciting work that I have been doing has been really enjoyable. I also feel that constantly learning since I joined has played a big factor in the enjoyment of my role as I always enjoy learning new skills and information.
Overall, I feel that my apprenticeship program is quite well organized. I initially really enjoyed the project work that I was doing in my first secondment and the placement was really well planned as I had pre-planned people that were assigned to assist me everyday. I do feel that the program could benefit from slightly better planning in some areas however I feel that the benefits far outweigh the drawbacks.
I feel that the support that is offered to me at Schneider is really good as I feel comfortable to ask people questions and for support whenever I feel I need it. I receive a lot of support from the sales team and also have regular catch-up calls from my mentor.
I feel that the support I get from my training provider is very good and helpful for me. I receive a lot of help whilst in class and all of the lecturers are happy to take my questions (No matter how stupid they are!). I feel that in certain areas the training could be improved however this is a small problem and could be rectified fairly easily.
When I was doing my first placement, my training that I was receiving from my college was reaaly helpful for me as the information that I was being taught was relevant to the role I was in. However, now I am working with the sales team which isn't directly linked however still has some relevant information. Besides, the information that I am being taught at college isn't supposed to teach me about sales as the apprenticeship is in Electrical engineering and not sales.
At Schneider, there are many opportunities to get involved in extra-curricular activates outside of your direct working role. For example, I have attended a careers event recently to advertise the apprenticeship program to potential applicants. Furthermore, I will also have the chance to go on a team-building residential trip with my colleagues to get o know them more and get better at working in teams.

I would recommend Schneider to a friend because it is a fantastic opportunity to enter the world of engineering. It is a great company to work for with equally great people, and sets you up for a great career. Furthermore, entering the apprenticeship program means you are apart of the future of Schneider electric which essentially means; if you get in, you go far.
Work hard and be yourself. Schneider electric is a company with fantastic people so remember to be yourself and enjoy yourself! Furthermore, working hard at anything you do is a mindset that will take you far within Schneider so try and work hard at everything you do and all the tasks that you are given!
