I am an engineering apprentice and as well as building up the relevant technical experience i am given the advantage of working within different departments in the company such as sales etc. I feel this has not only widened my horizon within the company but has kept my job interesting on a day to day basis as it varies.
I feel like the apprenticeship programme has really allowed me to come out of my shell and develop many skills i did not posses. For example I can now present confidently in front of an audience and my communication skills have nurtured significantly in the workplace. In addition to that i feel i have developed in many other areas like my confidence and the ability to organise and manage time.
I enjoy my work to a high extent and everyone around me in the workplace are very kind and supportive. The company culture is also excellent as all the mangers/ directors are very approachable and always keen to solve ant issues. The apprenticeship programme goes beyond my expectations and i am really enjoying it.
I think the apprentice programme has been structured very well as you gain experience in different parts of the company and not only the electrical engineering technical side but also the commercial side. Also the company is very supportive with any issues. The training is also excellent at both work and college.
I feel the support at Schneider electric is excellent, all managers are very supportive with any help needed. All support is accessible very easily and their are teams designated to help solve an HR issues or guidance with problems. Everyone is approachable and have a keen attitude towards aiding us as apprentices.
Our training supporter is very supportive with all learning/ training. All lecturers are very helpful and try to keep all theoretical studies as relevant to our roles and go the extra mile to insure we understand the studies. Also management is fairly easy to get to and any issues are solved promptly.
I feel like the training i gain at college really allows me to perform my role better as i understand the theory behind applications. Also i feel it really allows me to be more competent to do my job as i have a better understanding of safety and different standards.
My workplace has a great culture and has many different activities which can include everyone such as its social club which organises events and celebrations. Also it has sport opportunities such as the weekly organised football matches and the many benefits the company offer such as discounts at certain events ad the cycling scheme.
