Work experience within the audit department. This has involved me chasing up bank letters for clients, casting and examining accounts for any mistakes, creating excel sheets for income and expenditure of clients, and adding recent data to existing spreadsheets for clients' bank balance.
I have learnt how to examin and cast a set of accounts, how to prepare a spreadsheet for income and expenditure, and also how to write a cash book. I have also developed my skills of speaking on the phone to people in a profetional manor.
I highly enjoyed working along side my team, they were all very friendly and happy to help in any problem i had. I also very much enjoyed writing up a cash book and entering data into the spreadsheets, and checking everything added up. The company culture was very nice and i felt very welcomed which made me enjoy my time even more.
I felt very valued by the team at BDO Sheffield as the work i was doing allowed others to perform their jobs efficiently. I was also greatly welcomed by the current workers and treated as an equal.
My programme was very well organised, I had a task to do almost every second of my time here and i was almost always busy, with another task awaiting.
My buddy and other team members offered much support adn advise during my time at BDO, this included not only advice on the tasks i was set but also advice on how i can further my career in this industry.
On my first day, HR offered a lot of support and assured me i would be welcomed into my office, which i was. They also told me how i could email if any problems occured, which made me confident.
My travel costs were paid for on top of my salary, and food costs were easily covered by my pay while at BDO. The pay was more than fair for the work I was doing and i was very happy with it
Yes, it was informed to me that BDO have many outside of work teams, such as a pub quiz team and a football team which i can join if i want.
Yes
As BDO is a very warm and welcoming company, with a wide variety of oppurtunities to move up in ranks and to also travel.
I would tell others to show your enthusiasm and your true colours, as when you be yourself you are more likely to get on with fellow workers and by doing so itll make your time there far more comfortable as it will assure you they will be there for any troubles you have.
