The role involves taking calls from customers regarding their accounts that are in financial difficulty. We also take payments for customers who want to cover arrears that they may have. If customers struggle to pay these arrears we have many options and routes we can take with them to help them/
I have learnt many new skills, including the ability to hold conversations really effectively with different types of people. My problem solving is much better now as I am constantly dealing with short bursts of stressful issues and sometimes very long term issues which has been really helpful for my on the spot thinking.
I enjoy my programme a lot, I do enjoy coming in and I do enjoy completing the work on the apprenticeship. So I would say I enjoy my programme to a comfortable extent and am learning a lot in the partaking of it all, it is something I definitely want to carry on exceeding in.
To be honest this is where the programme starts to lack, the organisation is honestly poor, we get promised development time to do our work and this seems to always be taken away from us due to requirements at the work place. This is sad to see as the programme has a lot of potential and little things like this can let it down. We don't even have our books yet that we were promised since last year.
I receive a great amount of support from my employer, whenever help is needed, help is most certainly given, help is also given really kindly and clearly. All trainers are really helpful and everyone is really kind when helping out. The employer supports us a lot to make sure we are on point for the job.
To be honest I don't receive much support from them in this department as they are not fully clear on the apprenticeship specification. It feels like it hasn't been explained properly to the people who need to be explaining it to us, this is not ideal when we need help.
To be honest, I feel the qualification doesn't help much, I usually find that the role helps me perform better in the qualification, I am not sure if this is how it should be but the qualification doesn't really do anything to assist the role I have at hand.
There are many extra-curricular activities to get involved in and constantly being advertised which is great to see. There are a lot of samosa sales but I feel not enough active things to do, it feels like we get the activities but they are ones that make us feel bloated rather than more active and healthy when on the job.
Yes
HSBC is a great place with many great people waiting to help you out. I feel it has been a good first step in the real world and has clued me up a lot about what real work is like. The job itself can be repetitive but there are many progression options after if you go the right way about it.
I would definitely advise them to look into working here, but to make sure they know what they are in for, it is a great company with a lot of opportunity for those who are looking to progress. I would advise people to put effort in to their applications and interviews as it could take them anywhere.
