This depends, for example when I first started, I would check through a clients information to check all relevant info is in, however as the season progressed, i started a few tr preps, which got more interesting, combined with alot of packaging, which is sending the TRs out to the client. I am currently on a secondment, but have only just started so there is alot of admin tasks, but the work will pick up again soon.
I have learnt how to use all of the tax applications, dealt with phoning HMRC, drafted emails in a professional way, and learnt the course for my first 2 exams, I have also received some other Private client and Corporation tax training which has been really useful. I am now learning the process for the partner team.
My programme is really enjoyable, as it is sociable aswell, I maintain contact with the other apprentices within the firm, and enjoy talking to my other team members, this is something I didnt think would happen in a big 4 firm. The training is good, and the work is interesting most of the time...
The programme is very well structured, and i look forward to the next events, however the organisation can be questionable at times, as there has been lots of mistakes with dates, events and times, due to the size of the operations. The programme is well structured with college days however.
I get time off to attend my college days, and time off to attend training days. When it comes to revision in the evening, the flexible working makes it really easy to plan your day to allow for optimum revision time. This is something which is really helpful for my exams.
Kaplan is a really good training provider. The teachers are really really helpful, and they give you their email address incase you have any further questions. They also have a online function where you can request a call or a instant chat with a tutor if you encounter any problems when revising.
My qualification isnt necessarily applicable to my role yet, as i am in tax, and i have only covered accounting and business technology and finance, however i have learnt about the ethics, and alot of background of the other areas of the business which has been really useful, so i would say it has helped.
Yes, there is a football team, and lots of socials which are really good, i have just joined a team in the reading office, and have already been added to the football email, and a couple of socials, I even got invited to a retirement party for a former member of my team!
Yes
Pwc is a really good company to work for, and i enjoy the work i do, the environment is really professional, and the staff are all really friendly. The work is interesting, and although it can get heavy in time, you feel under the pressure as a team, rather than a individual which makes it bearable.
I would say to be confident, and learn their values before you commence in any online tests. practice the tests first if possible and get to know the others in your group assessment as much as possible before the day starts. Stay in contact with the people you meet along the way, and act professionally!
