As I am on work experience I do not have a particular role but have been able to complete a variety of tasks. These include general office jobs such as scanning and printing. I have also completed parts of some tax comps which was very interesting.
I feel I have definitely developed as an individual and have particularly improved my time management. I would say my confidence has also improved as I have been working with lots of different people. I have also gained wider knowledge about the role of a tax accountant.
I enjoyed my programme very much, it exceeded my expectations. I thoroughly enjoyed completing the tasks I was given and have met lots of new people. It was definitely worth applying for.
Very valued, everyone in the office has been extremely welcoming and friendly. I was also given responsibility as I was able to get involved with a variety of different tasks which I really enjoyed.
Very organised. The induction on the first day was fantastic and gave a real insight into BDO and what we would be doing over the course of the 2 weeks. On my first day in the office I was welcomed by my buddy and conselling manager and everything was set up ready for me to start and get involved.
Lots of support.
I have received lots of support from my Buddy and Conselling Manager. They have helped me settle in and are continously giving up their time to help me out.
We received £200 for the completion of the placement which I thought was very generous.
Yes, I have already been invited to a social event and have been out for lunch several times with the other employees.
Yes
Everyone is very welcoming and it seems like a great company to work for. The summer school programme is one of the many opportunities BDO offer to young people and I think this is fantastic.
My main advice would be to pratice the online application tests continously before you apply and also to be well prepared for the interview. BDOs website has some useful interview tips.
