Doing more simple EGAS in FSLIs such as Cash, Plant Property and Equipment, and Intercompany. Also doing EGAs in completion and helping other team members to document their samples that they have picked. I have done limited testing, but this is understandable due to the fact that I am the most junior person on the team.
I learnt so much more on how to use excel, also I have gained a lot of knowledge on Aura and how to use it such as changing materiality, risk level, deleting EGAs and importing documents into Aura. Get to use technology, such as chats, hangouts and connect, to contact clients and team members.
The support for the programme is very good. Both University and PwC support. The buddy and Career Coach are very engaging and always make sure that I am doing okay. The senior associates on the team are always willing to teach and advice on the work. However, getting feedback and contacting some managers are very difficult.
The programme has a nice structured, we get a short holiday before we go back to university. We get to experience what audit life is like and what we are getting ourself into. Get to apply knowledge learnt at university to some of the work we do during the placement.
I got a lot of support, they provide us with a buddy and a career coach so at the beginning when I was clueless I got help from them and they always make sure I am doing fine and getting on with my work okay. The support is top notch.
We received just over a week training before the placement. I think this is short and we need to learnt so much within that period. The training is helpful but in my personal opinion learning on the job is the fastest and best way to learn, since stuffs learn during training are sometimes forgotten.
This program is kind of fast track so it would be very helpful. I know what kind of work I need to be doing before I actually join full time. Also I would understand the work process more and could progress faster in my career. This is better than being clueless after graduated.
The office has several socials and they encourage people to join. Since it is a short time there are just mostly drinking and stuffs. But I believe there are other socials going on the whole year round that I could not participate and be part of, so that is a shame.
Yes
PwC has very good support and would be a nice place to start the career. You would know many people and all the seniors are willing to teach and provide the best support that they can. So you never feel left out. There are also socials which are support by the firm.
Try not to focus on the academic only but also do some other curriculum activities. PwC like well rounded people and people who can provide examples which revolves around the 5 areas of PwC. Also be confident and make sure you are a team player rather than always a leader.
