  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • The Role i performed during my apprenticeship was to come come in as an Associate 1 in PwC, during busy season. (January to March). During this time i was part of different audit teams, working on different clients through out london. I was performing basic audit testing through out my placement.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • The main skills i have developed is team working skills as the majority of the my role was to be involved and work as part of a team. For example working with a variety of different people form a wide range of background. And asking people if they need help, when i can tell there work load is heavy.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have enjoyed this Programme through out my placement as its given me such a unique opportunity to bring what i learn at university into a professional work environment. And vice versa, i can bring what i have learnt at the work place back to University. Its also allowed me to make a more extended group of friends

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The course is structured extremely well, as my placements are split for across three years, for around 3 to 4 months at a time. Which is the ideal amount, due to the job being to tiring. It also gives you a chance to wok on new areas after completing more exams at university.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Through out my placement, i received constant support. Before joining we were assigned a buddy, who was our informal guide, who we could ask a variety of question to big and small. We also got paired with a career coach who you would guide us through out placement, reviewing our feedback.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training providers, are active in different ways. Newcastle University has been thoroughly involved when working towards my qualification, as they provide the majority of my teaching and university and set some of my exams. I believe that the ICEAW has more involvement, when we graduate, and work towards our last three exams.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The main advantage is that it gives us a solid foundation to performed and understand the testing we are carrying out. With out having the qualification i could not perform my role to the same standard. It allows me to be more confident in the way carry out my work.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are plenty of networking events to get involved with. Such as office drinks and leaving drinks. I am also aware that there are sports teams you can be apart of. Such as different football teams. Everyone gets put into social groups which gives a sense of community and belonging.

  • 9a. Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • There is a Great atmosphere within every group/situation i have been in, making it a really positive place to work. Everyone i have met is really nice and you learn so much from them. In terms of work and culture. There are also lots of opportunities to grow and advance.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • Have confidence in what you do. Don't be afraid to question of what your doing. Work well with others by listening and try to understand what they are saying. Research before hand what your doing. Pay attention to the 5 PwC objectives. Have business knowledge - Read the News, Keep up to date with current events
