It involves testing some balances to see if the accounts present a true and a fair view of its company's accounts. I also assist the more senior members of my team with some tasks so that they can speed up their testing process and meet the deadline.
Definitely, I learned how to test a lot of things mainly because this is my first placement. Furthermore, I learned some shortcuts in excel that are vital in order to be more time efficient. Also my audit knowledge and understanding is enhanced as I transformed my knowledge into practise.
I enjoyed it a lot as it is nice to leave the routine of always studying and enter the business world for a while, also it is a really good preparation of what is ahead. In addition I made good money and thus i am more independent.
It is very well structured, this is mainly due to the fact that they take so much time to prepare you for your placement. Also there is a lot of encouragement both from people from the university but also from the firm.
There is a lot of support. There is the so called "Buddy" which he is there for everything, also there is your people manager now called Career Coach which is there for the more important stuff. Moreover there is also support from the university.
There is a lot of support there, they ensure that before you leave all your hours will be submitted to ICAEW so that you will be qualified quicker
It gives me an all round background of Audit and Assurance before the placement so you have an idea of what is going on. Also by having 3 years of experience when i am finished i will be much more prepared and confident that someone that just finished Uni.
Yes there are. There is football,rugby,yoga,basketball,etc. The one thing that impressed me the most is that they have organised to climb the Mount Everest which is quite an accomplishment.

I was so afraid at the beginning but everyone was so good and kind to me and made me feel that i was in home, this was extremely important for me as i have no family in the UK because i am an international student.
