I work in HR in the people and culture team. my role consists of event management diary management of senior leaders I am fairly new to the role as i am only 3 months in but have already gained so much experience in the little amount of time i have been here
how to network in a professional manner event management how to stay organised and on task how to create a personal development plan which will be able to help my line manager and my personal goals that i have for my career. as i am new i am sure there is more to learn
Very much enjoy the programme! I am getting to meet different people n the business and having experiences i didn't think were ever possible for me, such as being apart of big events for the company and travelling around the country - this is helping my personal development as i am going out of my comfort zone.
the apprenticeship part is straight forward as there are time frames to get thing done by but i need to implement my job role to understand. the actual job is organised in the sense i know the processes and what to do but things change every day and that's the fun of it
My line manager is very supportive, she is like a mentor, helps me understand things i need to know and motivates me not to give in to stress. The general employer is supportive in the sense they facilitate to your needs and make sure nothing is a burden o you, for example; travel and expenses
my trainer is fairly supportive in the sense they give good guidance on what needs to be done and contexts around it. in my lesson they give me a good understanding of the topics that i will need to do alone and how if i am stuck on a topic how my job role can actually help me, also he always responds to my email with any questions i have asap
as i am doing a business admin course, it is helping me very much with my admin role; knowing how to approach people, behaviours in the work place, coaching and emotional intelligence - these are just a few. They are helping me do my job better than i would without it which is a bonus for me and my line manager.
Yes! - we have diversity networks to get involved in to help you discuss and plan events to make the workplace more inclusive, i am apart of the POEM (people of ethnic minority) group. In these groups we discuss what things we can do in the work place to make people feel more included.
Yes
it is a great place to work as the people are very friendly and are always happy to help whenever needed, usually it is a challenge knowing if someone is happy to help or not. additionally, its a great place for women to work and progress as it is not alien for them to be in senior roles as our CEO is a female and leads by example.
mention your strengths and weaknesses because they will try their best to make any weakness into a strength! They will strive to make you more confident and they do consider your views, values and beliefs as it is a very diverse workforce! don't be afraid to voice your point as they will be listened to
