Take calls from customers, other insurance companies and solicitors regarding claims and their liability, the vehicle repairs the hire limitations and any other concerns customers may have regarding their whole claims process. I also deal with complaints and issues the customers put forward and how we can look into solving them.
Yes, I feel have developed a more professional manor with dealing with customers and being able to adapt and empathise to customers in their circumstances. I have also developed my knowledge around insurance in general and feel I have a wider span of knowledge surrounding the car insurance industry in general.
I feel my apprenticeship training their hasn't really been much of a programme and not really an apprenticeship with much teaching. All that we do is read a book and then every few months our trainer comes in and reads sections of the book back to us, so I don't feel there is much of a programme.
As I explained in my previous box their hasn't been much of a programme so not much structure regarding my apprenticeship. Our trainer has only come in 4 times to see us and one was the initial first meet and we have been on our course for 6 months so the visits haven't been very organised.
Our team leaders and support members are very supportive when it comes to our apprenticeship and try their best to get the best for us and our qualification. Our manager makes sure we have the correct amount of time for our learning and if we have any issues puts them forward to Babington's.
Regarding my qualification I don't really know too much about it and I feel we could know a lot more when its so important and the reason we have our jobs. I do not know when my exams and my knowledge on the book isn't very strong due to the lack of explanation as only seeing my trainer so few times.
I feel some of the knowledge I have got from the book in certain areas it helps me however a lot of the book is about different areas of insurance so at a later date I decided to move to a different area of insurance I feel this book would help me.
There are many different areas that you can join as area curriculum I am part of the litigation team for my team so any updates regarding that I have to de meeting on and pass the information back to my team. There are also social team nights out that we can attend.
Yes
The company is very supportive and open to new ideas. I like my team I work with and enjoy sending time with them overall it is a good working environment for all and although I do not enjoy my job role I generally like coming into work due to the environment.
I would advise people that initially when you start the job their is lots of information that you need to take on board and it can be a bit over whelming however once you start the job role it isn't as hard as it seems and you can easily get to grips with it.
