Supporting my stakeholders to deliver the people agenda to drive the business objectives. Coaching leaders to develop their leadership behaviours, supporting our annual review process, analysing the people data to spot trends and act upon them, conduct organisational design with stakeholders to ensure we are maximising our people resource effectively.
I have developed the skills of resilience and "big thinking" - in my role as HRBP the variety day to day is immense and you can easily become swamped in the details. I have learnt to use my connections and Centres of Excellence to support me to get the best results
The programme has been highly beneficial to my development and growth as a HRBP. It's been really valuable to make connections outside of my organisation to broaden my knowledge. I've enjoyed the challenge of thinking differently and being able to show that at work and in my assignments
The HRBP programme was the first cohort for the Level 5 qualification. As a trailblazer not all the information was known at the start, such as EPA but the programme was well organised. Regular workshops, and support from my tutors and assessors has ensured I've got the maximum out of it.
My employer and line manager is 100% supportive of my Apprenticeship. I have been given total flexibility to ensure I have enough time to complete off job learning, and I've also been given opportunity to participate in aspects that support my learning but are not necessarily part of my day to day role - such as Engagement survey project group, TUPE consultations
I have received support during the workshops, but also my tutors have been available by phone and even 1:1 if needed to support with assignments as required. The discussion as part of my regular reviews have been supportive but are not really developmental, more a review of my progress and check in in case of any issues (of which there has been none)
Without doubt this qualification has helped me become a more rounded HRBP. I am more confident having the underpinning knowledge gained through the qualification, especially in the areas of Employment Law. My performance has improved as I now have foundation on which to rely. This has resulted in me being promoted to Senior HRBP supporting senior Exec stakeholders within my business.
There are some activities, such as book club, 5 a side football teams that you can get involved in if you wish. We having volunteering at several times across the year, and numerous charitable activities that people can participate in. This year I have helped at a local nature reserve, and renovated a children's play area.

Marston's is a company where people are encouraged to make a difference. I feel like I am treated like a person not a number even though the organisation has grown over the last few years. People are at the heart of everything we do - it's not just a strap line it's reality!
If you want to work in a busy, fast paced, customer orientated industry then Marston's will tick those boxes. Look at the breadth of the business we operate as you can gain lots of experience by working for us, and we have lots of opportunities for people to grow and flourish by moving around the organisation.
