taking calls form policy holders to assist them with the process of a claim. anything from getting vehicle repaired, arranging hire replacement, arranging vehicles to be booked into garages for repairs. discussing liability with policy holders. also talking to third party insurers, trying to obtain the best outcome possible for our inured.
I have learnt the ability to multitask and to deal with multiple things whilst being on the phone to whom ever it may be. this has allowed me to reduce time in between calls, also learnt a whole new business line, insurance a field in which i am relativity new in
programme is currently being delivered in a professional reliable way. I have enough freedom to learn in my own time. whilst still have the option to contact support when and where needed. the monthly visits I do how ever feel could be placed more strategically to allow us to bring more questions to the table.
the organisation is done well, I do however feel as if this course can be completed in a much shorter time, one and a half years does seem a little excessive. but on the job learning goes hand in hand with the text booklet. possible more references rather then the one booklet to learn would be appreciated.
our employer offers vast amount of support, each week we are given 3 and a half hours of work time to go through our text books and monthly one to ones for us to vent, explain, or discuss any issues or help we feel as if we may need in regards to the work needed to be done.
support form our trainer is offered in various way, email being the most convenient one. we do have monthly group meeting to go over text book and work set out from the previous month. however i do feel as if it could be done more often. possible once every 3 weeks
the qualification training defiantly gives us an edge when discuss liability with other third party insurers, I feel as if once I am qualified it will allow me to be more confident in my role and possibly apply for roles that are a little more demanding and require a little more presence.
there are a few things that other members of the team do in order to get to know each other a little better. nights out, Christmas gatherings, weekly football 5 a side tournaments. as apprentices we have had a gathering of all workers from across the UK offices as a team bonding event a few months ago.
Yes
Direct line Insurance Group has afforded me the possibility to learn a new job role, obtain a qualification in the process, and is it friendly and highly welcoming environment to work in. also the discounts that come along with being a employee are wonderful, car insurance, travel insurance , pet insurance all of these make a big difference to me on a monthly basis
i would advise to be open, fair , and be prepared to learn something new everyday. not all calls in this job role are the same. and you will come across things that you never knew existed. also if you are young and not a driver it sets you up to become a safer driver as you can see the possibilities of what can arise from speeding, not being safe on the road etc..
