I was a member of an audit team. Day-to-day work involved performing lots of tests to ensure a clients financial statements are correct. I would occasionally have to go back to the client and ask them questions about their workings. As this is my second placement there was more independence and responsibility for me to complete work
I have improved my people skills. I had to interact with a range of different people, either that being external Clients where I would need to be much more professional. Or working with other members of my team which is more relaxed. I also learnt more about how Financial statements work and my better understanding allowed me to be more confident when challenging a client
Yes, I have really enjoyed the programme. There is a nice mixture between uni and work life. It has completely matched my expectations when I joined. The course is very close and everyone is supportive of one another. The work can be very hard if you do not work hard
The course is very well organised. We as students are kept constantly with what is happening. While out on placement there is lots of the support from the uni and from members of the office. Each person is assigned a career coach who will help guide you if you have any issues.
I have gained lots of support from my employer. The career coach assigned to me has been very help and always been supportive with any questions or queries I may have. Along side that, the friends I have made in the office have been very supportive and have helped me with any little day to day struggles I may have.
We have gained lots of support. We are provided with lots of practice questions and revision sessions in the build up to our exams. There are multiple mock exams as well to give us extra practice. Also if you are struggling with any specific topic the lecturers are always willing to help.
The knowledge I have learnt from being at uni before placement has allowed me to have a better understanding of how the financial statements work. Especially my Audit module has provided lots of knowledge around my work on placement. However on the flip side lots of the knowledge learnt on placement help with my uni exams
There are hundreds of extrra- curricular activites to get involved with at Price waterhouse Cooper. As a football fan, I was able to sign up to play 7 aside with a group of people from the office. They played every two weeks. As I had no car on placement one of the people who organise the event was able to give me a lift.
Yes
I think they have been an excellent company to work for. They have been very supportive when settling into work life from Uni. There have been lots of great people I have met while working here, who have made the experience much more enjoyable. PwC has lots of great opportunities for people, especially when you finish the course
Make sure you get good A level grades. Be very friendly and forward in your interview and assessment days. Don't shy away in any group exercises. Having the confidence to challenge people and believe in yourself is a strongly desired attribute. Don't worry about the assessment days, they aren't as scary as they seem.
