As a Work Experience Student, I had the opportunity to shadow several trainee solicitors at the firm. I was given a number of tasks to complete (can't go into any further detail because of confifentiality proceedures) which gave me an insight into what working for the firm would entail. Each morning we were given a presentation on a different aspect of law; these were all highly informative.
I have developed my communication skills and have been able to gain more confidence in working independantly.
I enjoyed the programme very much as it gave me the opportunity to learn more about law in a friendly environment.
Pinsent Masons as a firm is very friendly. One of the values listed on their website is approachability, and as a Work Experience Student, I feel the atmosphere of the office reflects this. Asking for help was easy and the staff were all supportive.
We were all given a timetable and a tour of the office so we knew exactly where we needed to be at the right time. The support from the trainees was great as they were always there to help with tasks or find something else for you to do.
It was easy to get in contact with the Recruitment office, who replied to any inquiry straight away. As previously mentioned, the trainees were there to answer any other question and to help with anything difficult.
The whole firm has a welcoming environment and you receive support from everyone.
The food at the Deli is really good value for money.
There's lots to do around Manchester, and at lunchtime I would meet up with the other students.
Yes
The programme is really well structured; the people are all friendly; and I learned a lot about working for a firm such as Pinsent Masons.
Make sure you research the company before writing up your application because their values as a company are important to all of the staff.
