An HR Operations Senior HR Administrator provides varied quality administrative support services to meet the requirements of the Shared Service Centre and our customers whilst ensuring a fair and consistent approach to policies and procedures. Managing the work flow of the team and allocating work to the correct skill sets. Quality checking and providing support to my Line Manager and rest of my local team.
I have learnt so many new skills and developed many others. I have refreshed some too. I have created a continuous professional development plan and use this to check and review my learning at all times. I have learnt and explored new subjects and can now see where this fits in to the bigger picture. It has been an amazing journey of which I have been very grateful for the opportunity
I have thoroughly enjoy this programme. I had some real issues adjusting at first as I had not completed any degree and had left School in the 1980's !! At first I really struggled with obtaining the study leave but have found that after challenging this within the business rewards have been reaped and I now set aside a full study day which is uninterrupted.
This was the first cohort for Santander and was more like a trial. There were obviously teething issues but these were reviewed and marked as learnings for further cohorts. The interaction from the business with the students has not always been prioritised and I felt that this could have had a more effective alignment with the business strategies if this had been the case. The learnings and experience for the students would then have been more structured and effective.
I feel this has been answered above, apologies. Maybe I will answer the above question in more depth here. BPP had their teething problems at the start but have soon ironed these out. I have found BPP to be very supportive throughout and always ensured that their students had back-up from their employer for their study time.
We always receive support through our training provider. We have webinars to attend, a VLE to view material, recordings of webinars that may have been missed. Appropriate material to support assignment work and additional support via various comms methods if we also require this. Structured feedback is given and this can be used for further assignments. The training provider has a great team with mixed abilities and skills and these are used effectively for our apprenticeship.
Tremendously! I feel that this has greatly helped me to do a more effective role and it makes working life so much easier! I use my learnings daily and not just in my work life. I try and assist others with learning and progression and I also get involved in additional projects using the skills I have developed and learnt.
Yes. I have got involved in ‘round tables’, Lean In Circles, Champion Networks, Mental Health and Wellbeing and HR Operations Development sessions. I feel I can talk more confidently and ask questions effectively to understand. I work part-time and a fair distant from my workplace so I have difficulty in attending any work event outside my normally part-time working hours.
Yes
Because they do take your career seriously and invest and support their staff where they can see potential. They have a vast array of learning material and mandatory training that is all current and in line with any legislation. They have subject matter experts that are willing to sit with you and share their knowledge and experience with you.
Loads of tips and advice! I would tell them to prepare, review, gather evidence and save everything! Prepare for your reviews by keeping notes on items to discuss. Make notes during webinars. Print the assignment briefs and make notes on them to assist you when writing. Prepare templates for Skills & Behaviours and other items you will use frequently. Organise all your bookwork and admin so that you can easily access things and know where they are!
